TATA Group to construct 2 Resorts in Lakshadweep Under the Taj Brand

Two Taj-branded resorts have been signed by Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the hospitality division of the Tata Group, to be located on the islands of Kadmat and Suheli in Lakshadweep, the smallest union territory in India. The development of the resorts, which are scheduled to open in 2026, will prioritise sustainability and the preservation of the island’s delicate ecosystem.

The largest hospitality firm in India, IHCL, claimed that the agreement demonstrates its dedication to innovation and spirit of pioneering, which have helped to establish travel destinations like Rajasthan, Kerala, Goa, and the Andaman Islands on the international travel map.

There will be 110 rooms total at the Taj Suheli, which will include 60 beach villas and 50 water villas, and 110 rooms total in the Taj Kadmat, which will have 35 water villas and 75 beach villas. Cardamom Island, sometimes called Kadmat Island, is a coral island with a sizable lagoon and a marine protected area that has seagrass beds—a vital component of marine turtle breeding grounds.
